Cable Connectors
If a quick and safe connection or branch connection of low-voltage conductors is necessary or desired or a cable should be extended, repaired, or shortened, then the 3M cable connectors are the first choice. See for yourself!
We rely on 3M as a reliable partner for cable connections too.
3M Scotchlok connectors and taps have been used as secure connections for telecommunications and signal cables for over 50 years. However, they are also ideal for other low-voltage applications, such as in data and signal technology, lighting control and vehicle electrics.
How does it work? - Very simple, cable in, click, done!
All cable connectors are based on the same system: Inside there is a U-element with insulation displacement technology. The cables or cable ends are fed into the connector without stripping them beforehand. The cable connector is closed with the help of a pair of pliers and light pressure; the U-elements remove the core insulation and establish contact between the conductors. A solid, vibration-free, permanent, and electrically perfect connection is created.
Cable connectors with gel core
You can repair a broken cable or bring electrical conductors to the required length in just a few simple steps. The cable connectors are flame-resistant, and the internal gel core even allows use in a damp environment.
The blue cable connector 3M Scotchlok 314 can be used for wires with a cross-section of 0.5 mm² to 1.5 mm². Two or three wires up to 600 V can be connected reliably and electrically safely. These type of cable connectors are in great demand when robotic lawnmower boundary wires need to be laid or repaired. |
The red 3M UR2 cable connector can be used for two or three wires from 0.4 mm² to 0.9 mm², the outer diameter may not exceed 2.08 mm. These connectors are mainly used in signaling and telecommunications technology. They can be used in junction boxes as well as in telecommunication sleeves. |
The orange UY2 cable connector, is only about half the size of the UR2 and enables a quick and safe connection of two wires, especially when there is little space available, e.g., in switch boxes. Wires with a maximum outer diameter of 2.08 mm can be used, whereby the cores can measure 0.4 mm to 0.9 mm. They are mainly used to connect telephone and / or network cables. |
Branch connectors
They are known by numerous names: “Electricity thief”, single wire connector, wire connector, cable clamp or flat fuse holder and enable an existing line to be tapped without disconnecting the circuit.
With the red 3M 558 branch connector you can create a branch from an existing conductor wire in no time and without removing the insulation. It can be used for wires with a conductor diameter of 0.5 - 1.5 mm², whereby the maximum voltage may be 600 volts. |
With the red 951 and blue 951 branch connectors from 3M Scotchlok, you can quickly and easily create a branch from an existing conductor wire. With these versions, however, you also need a branch plug, this is not included in the scope of delivery. The 951 and 952 have the same structure and dimensions. They only differ in which wire size can be used. The 951 is used for 0.3 - 0.8 mm² and the 952 for 0.8 - 2.0 mm², the total diameter with insulation being a maximum of 3.8 mm. |
