Sealing tapes are essential for tiling the bathroom. At the transitions between wall and floor, coatings with sealing compound are often not sufficient. Self-adhesive tapes are used here. They ensure that corners and edges in transition areas are adequately sealed. In most cases, these are expansion or connection joints under the tiles. The expansion joints are alternatively referred to as movement joints and are intended to help relieve tension between two components. There are different joint widths to meet individual needs. The wider the expansion joint, the more leeway it offers at the respective point. Sealing applications and repairs can be done on high-energy materials such as metals, painted surfaces and wood, ceramics, and many other surfaces.
In order for the adhesive to achieve its full effect, you must first clean the surfaces. The material should then be dry and free of grease. Impurities such as rust must be removed beforehand. If you have persistent dirt, you can clean the surface with benzene or isopropanol, for example. The high-performance tape is then pressed firmly for at least 10 seconds so that a full-surface connection is made with the base and the full strength of the adhesive force can be used. The application is very simple and ensures quick sealing against ingress of water. |
